Blackwater International Coal Centre

Opened in 2008, the Blackwater International Coal Centre, located in the town of Blackwater in Central Queensland, is a platform for showcasing the Australian Coal Industry to the world. The BICC incorporates an education-based Interpretive Centre which lets visitors learn about the history and future of the coal industry. The Centre runs open-cut mine tours several times a week, dependent on weather. With well-equipped conference rooms, a 3-D cinema featuring new-release movies, Japanese Gardens and an onsite Subway restaurant, the BICC is a social and cultural hub for the people of the town and surrounding area.
