We do our own fossicking so our sapphires are local. Karen is our Gemcutter and Michael is our Jeweller. Our collection of fine jewellery, gems and crystals are truly dazzling and a must see on your visit to Rubyvale on the Central Queensland Sapphire Fields. For a great bush fossicking experience we have our DIY Self Drive Fossicking Tour. You will need room in your car for the fossicking kit. Bring a picnic lunch, drinking water, toilet paper and bug repellant. We will give you a crash course in fossicking for sapphires, a map and directions that will put you in an area where big sapphires have been found. Tours start at 9am, 7 days a week. Bookings Essential.Little House of Gems is open for visitors 9am - 3pm Monday to Friday. Entry is free. Fossicking Licences and Camping Permits are available for purchase from us. We have 'take away' bags of wash which are a 'good day's digging in a good spot'. They are lots of fun, educational and guaranteed to contain sapphires.
