Trauma Informed Care

9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 11 April 2019

Join Penny Gordon for this full-day training workshop on trauma-informed care.

Trauma-informed care acknowledges the impact of trauma in a person’s life and aim to reduce the likelihood of retraumatisation through practice. Such practice supports a person to work towards empowerment by focusing on the

person’s strengths and promoting choice.

Housing and homelessness services are increasingly adopting trauma-informed care responses that understand the impact of trauma on a person as opposed to viewing the individual as problematic. Community housing providers in particular are using trauma-informed care to sustain tenancies for people with complex needs.
