Heritage Festival

Enjoy outdoor cooking with family and friends? Don’t miss the Rockhampton Heritage Festival on 30 May. This year’s theme is ‘Outdoor Cooking’. Discover how Australian’s love of outdoor cooking developed from early European settlement right through to the present day.

Featured guest is well known celebrity bush cook ‘Ranger Nick’ who will demonstrate cooking on that Aussie icon of pioneer cooking, the camp oven!

There will also be displays and demonstrations of a range of other cooking methods, from open campfires right up to the barbeques of today.

Entertainment will be by blues and folk music festival favourites the Hillbilly Goats. They’re a toe tapping high energy blues / country / bluegrass band with a quirky edge.

As well as that you’ll see the Heritage Village in full swing showing how people lived and worked in days gone by with demonstrations of vanishing trades including blacksmithing, shearing and more. Take a ride on one of the Village’s vintage cars and trucks or on our Cobb & Co stage coach.

Stay for dinner and enjoy a variety of foods!

The Heritage Festival is a Rockhampton Regional Council event, in cooperation with the Friends of the Heritage Village.
