Leathersmithing | Flowers and Foliage

Discover leathersmithing in this beginners’ workshop, and take home leather flowers and leaves that you have created yourself. Hand-craft unique foliage from lightweight vegetable-tanned leather.

The workshop will progress in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step manner. Techniques covered are pattern layout, cutting, colouring and different applications on shaping the flower petals and leaves, including optional ideas for flower centres.

Cherryl has an eye for colour and graduated shading techniques to create beautiful life like leather flowers, all that will be missing is the fragrance! While leather and flowers are not often thought of together, a leather flower can create a beautiful decorative element for an outfit or accessory. Flowers in leather are timeless and a fashion statement. You can wear these delicate flowers as jewellery, hair accessories, a bouquet, a brooch, or add flair to a bag, belt, corsage, or pair of shoes.

No previous experience is required. All tools and equipment will be supplied for students to use during the workshop.
